What happens when Mexico, in response to a serious effort to deport illegal aliens to their homelands, refuses to accept them back home. They are "undocumented" after all. Who's to say they aren't Swiss citizens of genuine aliens from Mars? Will they be allowed de facto residency. Most likely, they will share the fate of Palestinians in "refugee" camps in some benighted part of Arizona. Gulags, as it were, or concentration camps. I don't advocate this, but it's an easy near future to imagine. Europe faces a similar problem all along the Mediterranean. There was even a best-selling novel about it in France, The Camp of the Saints. The situation now is rather worse than in that novel, because more believable. The Vatican, accustomed to taking the long view, is already trembling in its tiara.
