Michael Moorcock's pure sword and sorcery writing has always been pretty light and fluffy....
There are a lot of adjectives I might apply to Moorcock's S&S, but neither "light" nor "fluffy" would be among them. :D
This is pretty exciting news; I was unaware of this entirely. But one question about the art: the cover appears to have Elric dressing up as a Lakota on Vision Quest. Is that repeated throughout the book?
For the record: me no like.

Just my way of saying that it's toward the brain candy of the spectrum.
But one question about the art: the cover appears to have Elric dressing up as a Lakota on Vision Quest. Is that repeated throughout the book?
Not entirely. That's depicting Elric in the guise of White Crow, who he embodies in the first quest. His attire grows more standard as the quests move forward, and in the present day he's wearing much more what you'd expect.
