I'm a Batman fan, but I've only ever read a dozen or so Batman comics. Most of my love for the dark crusader comes from other media. So, what are the best resources for Batman awesomeness? Note: This is classic Batman only, no Batman Beyond or similar resources.

My top 2:
1. Batman The Animated Series. At least Seasons 1-3, the Batman and Robin portion wasn't quite as solid for me. Many classic, character defining episodes abound that I still find very enjoyable today.

2. Batman Begins. Everything I could want in a Batman movie all neatly wrapped together. The cheesiness of the later Batman movies was entirely discarded for a much more believable Batman in a more familiar Gotham.

Batman: The Animated Series was really good. They've been rerunning the old episodes on one of the kids networks here lately (whichever one has the Jetix lineup) and I've been watching them. Really like a lot of the focus on normal folks like gangsters and such. Plus the way they worked characters in over time (Two Face/Harvey Dent being the best). It's always top on my list for favorite Batman media.

I liked the first Burton Batman film quite a bit. A lot of that was because of Nicklesons job doing the Joker. But the whole thing worked together really nice. The second Burton Batman movie on the other hand... I didn't like it at all.

Dark Knight Returns, The Killing Joke, Batman Year One; there are a lot of good comics versions of the Batman out there, which is as it should be: Batman was first and foremost a comic character.

That said, as a) comic fans have started to make movies, and b) the tech makes more and more things possible on film that could only be drawn on paper, I think Batman and other comic characters will find a new home on the big screen. And yes, I too loved B:TAS, and think it's one of the consistently better takes on the character.
