One of the things that's been great about the new Doctor Who is that each season has had a few entirely brilliant episodes. This was the first of season 3.
The whole hopeless plight of the underground people was at the same time over-the-top but also deeply symbolic and meaningful, especially when they all joined together in their religious chant.
However I liked the Doctor opening up to Martha even more.
And it was great to see the Face of Bolg again. The continuity in the new series has just been great. It was always something largely missing from the original, but here we keep revisiting the same places season after season.
And knowing the general thrust of this season, I was pretty sure I knew the Face's secret before he even spoke it, but it was still wonderful to hear and has been gleefully anticipating the rest of the season.
As for next week, and the Daleks, they're starting to feel overdone in this new series. I hope I won't be disappointed by it.
