Yeah, so I was in FYE yesterday and came across two Asian horror movies that I'd like people's opinions on before I buy...

The first, Marebito, seemed like a decently thought-out story. Never seen it, but it caught my eye and when I read the back it made me heavily consider buying the flick.

The second, is Audition. Fairly sure a lot of people have heard of it? This one was apparently the 'uncut' version. Not sure if that should be taken into consideration or not? Anywho, I seen a brief snippet on a top 100 horror movie moments listing a while back and was intrigued.

The thing is...I'd like to see both these movies, but I'm a college kid without a lot of extra income. If it was worth it, I'd gladly shell out the cash for the movies, but I don't want to buy and be disappointed. If that makes sense?

Audition's great. It's not a jump-scare horror movie that's anchored in the action genre (so no running and fighting) but rather it's anchored in drama and is about fucked up people with fucked up relationships. If you don't have much money then get it second hand or rent it.

You probably are better off with the uncut version too, as with most of Miike's films, the shocking imagery is half the fun.

Marebito is one of my favorite movies. Very strange. I recommend it.
