Well, I put off watching the new Dead Zone all week, because the show has been soooo unimpressive this season, but I finally watched it tonight so that I don't get behind.
It was OK. The writing was relatively strong in the puzzle-solving vein that many good Dead Zone episodes are. The relationship between Sarah and Johnny is well-written and has generally made Sarah more interesting than she's been in years.
On the other hand the "even Stillson can change" plot was so abrupt, out-of-character, and heavy-handed that I couldn't believe it. I *liked* seeing him treat Johnny well, but I find it hard to believe he's suddenly changed so much. I mean, he wasn't a nice guy before Illuminati-guy showed up; he's not going to suddenly be now.
Whether the eventual purpose is to set Stillson up for a new fall or to rehabilitate him in an attempt to make that season opener believable, it felt awkward.
Nonetheless, a step up from the previous two episodes.
