As I was watching the credits for this episode, I was struck by the fact that they're no longer accurate. It used to be a show about people who were taken out of time, but now we've lost all the people from the distant past (Richard, Maia) and to a large extent we've lost any repercussions from people have lost segments of time. Which is disappointing.

While I'm not entirely in agreement with the direction of the show, nonetheless the writing has been quite good this season. We had another monster-of-the-week episode, but it was again well written and interesting, as with 4.2.

I also really appreciate the fact that our main characters seem to generally be at odds with the civil liberty violations implicit in the promicin crackdown. Marvel Comics recently tried to go in the opposite direction with the civil liberty violations of their Civil War series, treating it somehow as something good, and I think the response generally shows how much of a disaster that was.

A few character notes.

Kyle. When we heard the redhead say for the second time, "I'm your ability", I became convinced that she wasn't. It's a simple application of Occam's Razor when you look at it more carefully. Kyle suddenly has the ability to know what's going to happen in the future. Who else has shown that ability in the show? The futurists. I think Kyle's being possessed again, probably by a different force than the one who had him shoot Collier, but I wouldn't bet on it.

Sean, Tom. Go, go.

The New ENTAC Director. Nice to see her directly involved in the goings-on. The father plot was a little heavy-handed, but got her straight into the middle of things, forcing her to take a side. I hope that'll pay off more as the season goes on.
