Here's a thread for tonight's Lost.

I'm not going to be able to watch this episode for about a week, but I'm willing to wildly speculate.
(No spoilers, please, at least not for episodes following "Greatest Hits", and not for that episode until it shows this evening.)
Fight, Fight. It seems pretty clear that Jack and Juliet have been conspiring to resist the Others when they attack they camp. I *think* Juliet is trustworthy, mostly because we've seen so much evidence to the contrary. I'm also pretty sure that when Rosseu made her cameo a couple of episodes ago, picking up dynamite from the pirate ship, it was for Jack, and so we'll see her here.
Locke. I'm still puzzled by Locke's actions through the midseason. Blowing up the communication station, blowing up the sub (maybe), and trying to kill the one-eyed man all seemed somewhat out of character. For a bit I was convinced that he was already working with the Others, especially when he flung the one-eyed man through the fence and he showed up a few episodes later. Now, I dunno, maybe it really is just trying to destroy technology to regain his position as priest of the island.
And is Locke dead? I don't think so, especially not after the pointed discussions of healing wounds in the last few episodes. Will he appear again before the end of the episode? I suspect so, but not until next weeks' two parter.

Finally got to see the penultimate episode today. I haven't seen the finale yet, so no spoilers there, please.
What a terrific episode! I feel like the season's been getting better ever since we got to the back half, this Spring, and this is the best of the bunch, which is saying quite a bit.
The whole episode felt like a 44-minute long memorial of Charlie, which was clearly the point. Toward the end I started wondering if Desmond might be lying to him, but tears still kept rising up into my eyes, especially when I came to realize that Charlie was writing down his best memories ever, and that the last one of course would have to be about Claire and the island.
(I'd guessed it would be the peanut butter moment, rather than one we hadn't seen before.)
Charlie coming up into the air was a surprise, but not a total one. The hatch being inhabited by some very hostile people was a bigger surprise. At this point I figure there are two possibilities.
1. Desmond was lying to Charlie because he knew it was the only way to get Charlie down into the Looking Glass.
2. Desmond wasn't lying to Charlie but, as he noted, he didn't know exactly when things would occur, and as a result Charlie is going to die in the next episode when the Looking Glass is being flooded after the results of the episode.
I dearly love Charlie, but my guess is #2. Those of you who have already seen the episode of course know the outcome. Don't tell me;).
My general theory in Lost has been that people died when they redeemed themselves. That seemed to be the case with Boone, Shannon, and Ana Lucia (if I remember her name correctly). Libby is my big flaw in the theory ... but if she was really an Other, the same rules might not apply to her. Ah, and then we had our thieving pair this season who clearly didn't redeem themselves either ... but up until Libby got shot it seemed like a good theory.
If that's the case, Charlie has clearly redeemed himself. He's found love, he's conquered drugs, and he's given freely of his life; he doesn't need to be on the island anymore.
I should get to see the finale tomorrow.
