I'm still weeks behind on my Stargate watching, but here's a place to talk about the series finale for people who aren't ...

Well, given that it was originally supposed to be a season finale I liked it. I'm looking forward to the movie that finishes things up.

Do we have a rough date on that yet?

I was a few weeks behind myself and finally watched this last night and I really liked it. Sure it didn't really tie things up except in a "glimpse of the future" kind of way for at least two characters but it was fun, well done, and I loved the musical interlude bit. That was one of the better uses of licensed music outside shows like Supernatural I'd seen in awhile. All in all, it made me sad to see the show go, especially since I think the cast was really starting to click.

Well, clearly I'm even more than a few weeks behind! We finally saw it today.

I agree with the like. It was the best SG1 episode in some time, and I think that's because the Ori were a plot point not the focus. The musical interlude was indeed the high point of the episode, and it was terrific to see Vala and Daniel finally admit their feelings for each other.

As for the two movies: apparently one was filmed starting in mid April, the other in late May. They seem to both be scheduled for sometime in 2008.
