Those interested in the progress of the fabled 25th Anniversary of Little, Big are invited to go over to the LB25 site, where you can see a PDF of the first chapter, designed by John D. Berry, with art drawn from the work of Peter Milton. I am extraordinarily pleased with how the book is evolving (Ron Drummond, publisher, has been sending me low-res digital versions of many chapters for my comments).

You can go directly to the page where the sample chapter can be accessed:

Ron Drummond's idea of combining my text with art not intended for it but similar in spirit seems to me to be working to an extraordinary degree: not only the selections that uncannily match the text, but the ones that diverge from it in revealing ways -- just note (though I'm sure you would without my pointing it out) how the white fish is afloat within the cafe where Alice tells Smoky they were meant to be together. The work of selection, both of the large Milton pieces themselves and the details selected from them, has been almost entirely Ron's, the work of designing text and pictures to work together has been his and John D. Berry's -- though as noted I've been frequently consulted. It's a genuine act of creative thought.

Every picture will be included in all editions of the book -- lettered, numbered, trade. Not coincidentally, instructions on ordering the remaining copies can be found on the LB25 site also.
