Just Finished The Golden Age by John C Wright

I just finished this last night. Very much a "part one" kind of book. The end is pretty grim. Interesting to see an advanced society that was dominated by AI (sophotechs is a cool name for them too), but at the same time still run by humans. The Warlocks were really cool too. I hope they get more coverage in the next book.

Hello Valen. Without giving anything away, let me say that the other two books are probably not what you are expecting. At least, they weren't what I was expecting. I enjoyed them, but felt that The Golden Age was the strongest.

Yeah... the story goes in a very different direction after this book.

All I can say is, don't try to skim them.
