Walt Whitman is dead and buried, his fame as secure
Oh dear, you guys will just have to wait till this appears in print. Almost every line is so long it spills over the right hand margin to make a little dangle of a half-line, which would give the whole poem an utterly ragged look and ame it nigh on impossible to read smoothly. But while we are on the subject of death, let me note in passing, and shed a tear for the death of Charlton Heston. Not just Hollywood's most stalwart hero (Ben Hur, Moses), but an admirable bit player (Cardinal Richelieu) and noir kind of guy (Orson Welles's Touch of Evil). And before someone says But what about Gun Control! I will add I'm all in favor of hand gun availability. And euthanasia on demand, its corollary. Liberty or Death. And kids should be able to have their own pet rattlers.
