I'm a bit bemused by this new web company.
http://www.sanctuaryforall.com/
Here's info on it:
May 14, 2007 –— Stage 3 Media Inc., an independent production company specializing in new media entertainment, today announced the worldwide premiere of Sanctuary™, an innovative new webisodic series led by internationally-recognized actor Amanda Tapping (Stargate: SG-1, Stargate Atlantis). Featuring stunning visual effects and innovative interactive elements, Sanctuary takes the viewer into a thrilling world where science meets the supernatural. The first of Sanctuary’s eight 15-minute webisodes can be viewed exclusively online at www.sanctuaryforall.com (http://www.sanctuaryforall.com/).
“I feel like we’re riding the crest of an amazing wave,” says Tapping, who also serves as executive producer. “Sanctuary is such an exceptionally cool premise. I am so very proud of this show and hope the fans will feel the same buzz we’ve felt in bringing it to life.”
It's an interesting idea, but $2.00 for a 15-minute download seems pretty out-of-wack with industry prices. Why in the world would I pay $16 to see a 2-hour show on my small computer screen when for that same amount I could go to an actual theatre twice, or buy a decent fraction of an actual DVD set?
Let alone the fact that they appear to know the industry so poorly that they have no idea they're setting themselves up for a cease & desist from the Thieves' World owners.
And, UGH, the flash! The flash!
But Amanda Tapping, that's kinda cool.
