Dear George,
I love you, I really do. Well, your books anyway. But please... stop writing tons and tons on your blog and get on with the next book! Please? Pretty Please?
Tylorva.

Didn't he write on his blog about how he was writing tons and tons on Dance of Dragons?
Is this a paradox?

I've been constantly surprised by how much trouble Martin is having with A Song of Fire & Ice. I expect it a bit more from an inexperienced writer like Rowlings, but Martin has been in the business for decades.
I suspect it comes down to the fact that the series has achieved so much critical acclaim. When he was writing the first couple of books, he was just writing more novels, but now I think he knows that he's writing the books that he'll be remembered for, and it seems like that realization has been somewhat crippling.
And that's a problem that just throwing more time at won't have an effect on. So I don't think his livejournal is slowing down his writing at all.
He's also working on the series with HBO I think. I'll cut him a little slack for that.

I eagerly await that HBO series, as a matter of fact.
But I also want Dance with Dragons. I'm not upset at him, but I expected after how long AFFC took, that Dance wouldn't be too far behind it.
Oh well.
Yeah, I was under the impression that the complete book was being split, and then published soon after. Oh well. I've got plenty to read lately, but this can't come too soon.
