In Escape from the Sun Tom and Elsa,
two Nebraska orphans, leave the little orphanage
where they have spent their childhood to discover
a world made entirely of money! It is ruled
by dead angels who shop in a golden supermarket
where they can buy wings to replace their old,
worn-out wings. It turns out they are actually
cheerleaders from the early years.
In the end Tom and Elsa are taken to another planet.
The book has been banned from libraries
all across the state of Nebraska,
but the Supreme Court has ruled, unanimously,
that it can be purchased over the Internet
and sent through the U.S. mails.
That is why Freedom-to-Read activists
have been blowing up all the post offices.
Imagine if your kids were called Tom or Elsa
and such a book were mailed to your home.
What would you do? Help us get out the vote!
