The latest ("April" 08) issue of Realms of Fantasy Magazine features a very wonderful new story by Delia, which she has posted about here (http://deliasherman.livejournal.com/26542.html), so I won't retell the story of the story. I just wanted to let you know it was there, in case you're a Realms reader who'd enjoy knowing the background. It's based on a Charles Vess watercolor (http://greenmanpress.com/news/archives/245) that he made for us on a birthday retreat in France - and I did want you to know that the place, Cubertou (http://www.cubertou.com/), is still there, is beautiful, inexpensive, hosts a huge number of people if you want to do something as silly as to rent it for 3 weeks and invite everyone you know to stop by (I think our top score was 21 people all overlapping there at once for a couple of days - and in fact, that's a few of them pictured over the "Elisabeth" quote on this page (http://www.cubertou.com/en/introduction.htm)) . . . Several of our guests that summer have actually returned there for birthday celebrations of their own, but we couldn't make it. I do miss it, though - especially after reading Delia's story. I might like to go in autumn, during the grape harvest (oh, that Cahors wine!), and just be there alone in the house, with the cows and the stars for company....
