So I watched this film last night. Its a French animated film for those unfamiliar, and here's the IMDB link. (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0386741/)
What a cool movie. The visuals are nothing short of stunning. At first I thought it was just a funky use of rotoscoping, but realising that its all animated motion capture stuff I'm simply amazed.
It also has a really strong story (if not the most original) and voice cast too with Ian Holm and Jonathan Pryce among the cast. At least on the English soundtrack, I dunno who did the french audio or what it was like as this DVD only had the english soundtracks for some reason.
I found the Bladerunner influence really strong, though maybe that's just due to my familiarity with that material rather than other influences the film-makers had.
I dunno how much it made or how popular it was when it first came out, but I'd really recommend it to anyone who likes noir or science fiction film.
