When Edgar Bergen died, Snerd
and McCarthy died with him. The same can be said
for Bert Lindstrom's tribe of characters,
Kukla, Ollie, Fletcher Rabbit--a regular
genocide. But the Muppets are another matter.
They will live on in their corporate prison
as long as Disney still can squeeze
some profit from them. Like poor Snoopy.
in bondage to Met Life, they will be
loved a little less each year
as children grow up and realize
