Yesterday, I wrote 873 words and finished the prologue of Joey Lafaye. It's a very different prologue than the one I'd originally planned for this book, the one I was calling "The Locksmith of Elfland's Daughter." So, now I have a prologue and one chapter, which come to 41 ms. pages. I spoke with my lit agent yesterday, and I'll be sending her the first part of the novel as soon as I've written Chapter 2, which I hope to write over the next week or so.
I have a dental appointment this afternoon, and it has everything out of whack.
Yesterday, the postman brought me my comp copies of the new mmp 4th edition of Silk (http://www.amazon.com/Silk-Caitlin-R-Kiernan/dp/0451456688/ref=ed_oe_p) (ISBN 978-0-451-45668-7). Generally, I am very happy with how this book turned out. It should have been in bookshops now since early December, so please pick up a copy. The mmp of Murder of Angels will be along in April. Meanwhile, here are the links and ISBNs for the other new mass-market paperbacks:
Threshold (http://www.amazon.com/Threshold-Caitlin-R-Kiernan/dp/045146124X/ref=pd_bbs_2?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1197064564&sr=8-2) (978-0-451-46124-7)
Low Red Moon (http://www.amazon.com/Low-Red-Moon-Caitlin-Kiernan/dp/0451461649/ref=pd_bbs_6?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1197064564&sr=8-6) (978-0-451-46164-3)
Oh, the mail also brought a copy of the Swedish f&sf zine, Mitrania (http://www.mitrania.se/) (No. 3, 2007), which has a story about my fiction. I assume it says nice things, but, alas, I cannot read Swedish.
We have now begun the latest round of eBay auctions. Copy X of the previously unavailable lettered-edition of Tales from the Woeful Platypus (http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=230202198732) has already been listed (which comes with my first beanie paisley platypus), along with a copy of the trade hardback of Frog Toes and Tentacles (http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=230202193470). Much, much more to be listed over the next couple of days, so do keep your eyes peeled (as they say).
