NY Times Wit

I've started trying to log all these NY Times witty allusions to obscure literature and philosophy sources. Haven't seen many really deep ones lately , but an article on digital versus face-to-face relationships as studied by anthropologists, from tribal societies till now, was called "Totem and Emoticon", and one today about Christmas buyers loading up on huge flat-screen TVs was headed "Never Mind the Wasteland. We're Just Talking Vast."

Semester ends next week, and I will maybe find more time for LJ; or, better, will forego LJ and finish this book.
