I just learned last night that this was how Pound referred to his publisher in letters to Laughlin. How long has the pun been standing in full view, and I just was blind to it! I hope I'm not the only ninny for whom it comes as a surprise. (I had to explain it to Mortlake, but then he needs most jokes explained to him.)
